Influenced by both hip-hop and electronic music, Bandeauxx. is a project focused on minimal, electronic pop. Yes, there's rapping. Yes, there's singing too. "I wanted to create a more open-ended take on music that reflected the world we actually live in" says Bandeauxx. "Where ideas and creativity combine to form something greater than the sum of its parts". Bandeauxx. is currently working on a series of projects and playlists focused on non-traditional electronic sounds.
The whole driving force behind the True To Form EP was "do the most honest music you can". Mixing elements from deep house to dancehall, hip-hop and electronic music as whole, True To Form as an EP is planting a flag for a sound in an ever-shifting musical climate. Written in locations like Singapore, Thailand, Los Angeles and Miami, the concept for the EP took shape over 18 months while doing remixes for artists like Xains, LINES, Paperwater and Voila Snow. Now, fully realized, Bandeauxx. is ready to show the world a new sound in and outside of the festivals.
The SirensSound presents the new single "Baby" by Basement Revolver.
"Baby is about feeling sad and down even though you are generally happy about everything and everyone in your life. It’s about feeling confused about what I want in life, and how that affects other people. It is about crying a lot and feeling like I was burdening my partner with those questions. It is also about my tendency to retreat when things get too overwhelming, to spend all day and night in my bed and watching netflix and eating doritos. "Baby" was written at a point in my relationship where I was so happy with my partner and with the things in my life at that point – but I felt an overall dissatisfaction and sadness that I couldn’t explain. I’d be having a really nice date, and I would start crying, and I didn’t know why. Sadness was just there, sitting with me in uncertainty. So I dealt with it by trying to sleep it off, or hanging out on my own. I felt like this depressive state was affecting those around me in a negative way and I felt guilty about that.
The chorus on this one pretty much states clearly how I was feeling – “Baby I’m so sorry, I’m trying my best to figure this out, I swear that I’m so happy, this crying won’t fix what’s already broken and dead, just give me some time”.
"Baby" will be part of the new album ‘Heavy Eyes’ out this summer via Sonic Unyon (North America) & fear of missing out (UK).
The Caracals is the brainchild of charismatic songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Johnny Cis, an Orange County-based artist with a creative vision and a passion for retro aesthetics.
The band's new track "City Girl" details summer romance, alternating slightly nostalgic lyrics with a stark psych-rock twist and the group’s trademark indie-rock energy. The song was recorded at Jazzcats Studios (Tijuana Panthers, The Buttertones) and was mastered by Grammy-nominated sound engineer Kelly Hibbert (Allah-Las, Little Dragon).
The Caracals are particularly inspired by early 2000s indie-rock, and the period’s unique wave of indie-rock bands. Johnny’s indie-rock influences are tastefully mixed with surf, beat and flavorful '60s vibes, making for a direct and unique take on garage rock music.
The band is expected to release their debut EP in September 2018. The Caracals worked with Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Royal Blood), for their recent single release, “In The Dark.” The track was featured on the popular Spotify playlist “Fresh Finds: Six Strings.”
"Into and out Of" is the latest single off of Language's forthcoming EP, Plymouth.
(Brooklyn, NY) When Omar Afzaal (guitar, vox) woke up the morning of his wedding, he already knew it would be the biggest day of his life up until that point. What he didn’t know is that he would meet Charles Sloan (bass, vox) that same day. The two would go on to play music together in 2013, resulting in some demos. It was when Afzaal and Sloan turned to Craigslist to find a drummer, eventually linking up with Wes Black, that the brotherhood of Language was born. Following two self-released EPs, the band now announces their signing to Brooklyn-based label Good Eye Records and their forthcoming Plymouth EP.
Language has been something of a best-kept secret in the live music landscape in NYC. Their experimental while unflinching stylings are the product of three individual talents committed to their artistry, enjoying the hell out of playing with each other the whole way. Their status earned them a support for Shame in late 2017, with Plymouth set to bring them to the attention of the music-enjoying populace at large.
Plymouth is out May 18th and is the sixth release from Good Eye Records.
Released on May 9th, "Coffee Under Starlight" is a track from Philadelphia-based act Villows, the brainchild of singer/songwriter & producer Vince Tobia. Villows' genre-blending sound incorporates alternative & electronic elements infused with the sun-soaked vibes of growing up on the beach.
Regarding the track, Vince/Villows says: "The first instrument I ever played was an old Yamaha keyboard. This past winter, I took a trip back home and was reunited with those very same keys, where I found myself bouncing between the chords that eventually became "Coffee Under Starlight". A song about having someone to keep you warm on a cold night."
He continues: "I've been producing music since high school, and I've been improving my craft ever since. This project started as a hobby while I was attending the University Of Delaware, but it wasn't until after graduating that I took ideas to songs and started to accumulate a catalog of demos. A year later I chose 3 tracks for my 'Hazy Skies' EP which was released in September. I love the beach, it's where I grew up, and it's a recurring theme throughout all of my music. I have written, recorded, and mixed every track on my own in my bedroom studio."
A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit.
The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
