Giorgio Moroder style propulsive synth bass and crisp guitar lines give the song a driving groove while the beatific synth leads lend an uplifting poignancy. This is Crooked Teeth at their most life-affirming yet. “You’ll be like no one else” Rob chants as the song crescendos to its heady climax. It’s been a lifelong journey for the troubadour to reach this point. Growing up on the Mornington Peninsula, a five-minute walk from the ocean, he fell in love with music as a young kid. Storm went from listening to Neil Young and The Beatles to becoming a disciple of Jeff Buckley, City and Colour, and Angus & Julia Stone by high school as well as devouring the works of Jack London. Along the way, he developed a singular style, merging impressive classically inspired finger-picking and a soulful hypnotic vocal delivery equally resonant of alternative, folk and blues.
“I was in a real rut when I wrote this song [“Change It All”]. A sort of slow spinning, downward spiral you can find yourself in when things become monotonous,” he admits. I was quite down about everything. I’m usually an optimistic person, but I wasn’t enjoying music as much as I used to. Then, I got this message from Terry and it really lifted my spirits,” says Harrison.

Lord Kesseli And The Drums is a band comprising of St. Gallen, Switzerland based maverick multi-instrumentalist Dominik Kesseli and drummer and producer Michael Gallusser. Following on from the release of their self-titled debut EP via celebrated Zurich record label Ikarus Records in the summer of 2016, Lord Kesseli and The Drums have just released their new single, Dear John. The track was recorded at Michael?s QLFM Studios in St Gallen.
Lord Kesseli And The Drums create involved soundscapes with drums, guitar, electronic bass synthesizer and pre-produced samples, which explore stories of human manipulation through consumption, and economics, politics and religion. Drawing from as diverse influences as Beethoven, Portishead, Nirvana, Bon Iver and Radiohead, the band?s sonic output has much in common with the international scene of kraut/psyche/cosmic space cadets such as M83, Connan Mockasin and The School of Seven Bells.
In terms of describing new single Dear John, mastermind Dominik Kesseli defines it as singer-songwriter psycho rave. It mixes narrative lyrical song structure with post electronica textures and atmospherics, and explores the existentialistic breakdown of a tortured soul seeking the redemption of St John. The exploration of religious parables in a secularized context is one of the facets of what is so fascinating about Lord Kesselis output. The suitably haunting video was directed by emerging St Gallen video artist Kaliber and it was filmed on location in the underground of St.Gallen, and in Kalibers studio. Ikarus Records label boss Manuel Clausen features as the protagonist.
Their debut EP release in the UK was met with glowing reviews and airplay, including Tom Ravenscroft featuring the track Arnold on 6Music. Live concert film Waiting For Arnold premiered with Loud and Quiet, and went on to win an award at the prestigious industry festival Austin Music Video Festival in 2016. The band has since toured France, the UK and Switzerland and are about to start touring in Germany. They recently went down a storm at Sounds From The Other City Festival in Manchester.
