Reed Four is an original 90's inspired experimental indie-rock band with hints of blues, folk, and shoegaze. Founded amongst friendships and random degrees of separation, they form an amalgamation of complimentary genres that spawned their sound and style. Those familiar with the sounds of Pixies, Radiohead, Florence + The Machine, and Alabama Shakes should feel right at home with Reed Four.
Singer/songwriter/guitarist, Andria Reed, a veteran in the local music scene of Evansville, Indiana, had already written and recorded her first acoustic album titled "Bedford to Bellemeade" within a year before the formation of Reed Four. Her goal was to turn the album into a much bigger sound. She had a mutual musical admiration for colleague/guitarist, Joe Vowels, and they began collaboration on the concept. The two instantly bonded and began forming the roots of what would become Reed Four's first album. Matthew Hyneman (drummer) and Josh Case (multi-instrumentalist), already familiar with Andria's work, soon joined the two. Within a year, the group began rehearsing and self-recording Reed Four's version of "Bedford to Bellemeade."
Reed Four's version of "Bedford to Bellemeade" was self recorded at Joe's house every Sunday from March 2013 through December 2013. It was then passed on to Mike Boren where he spent the next 2 years carefully mixing and mastering it in his free time. The album art was conceptualized from passing around music video ideas and playing off of recurring imagery sang throughout the album. Aaron Tanner of Melodic Virtue then brought this concept to light by creating the surrealistic imagery that decorates the album's cover. The album is loaded with "emotionally-charged, indie rock melodramas"..."that confronted life's struggles head on." - Tommy Ellis, News4U Magazine
During the waiting period of the mastering process, in Andria's spare time she became interested in filming and video editing. This led to the band making their own music video trilogy that tells a summary of the album's story when played in chronological order. Andria filmed and directed each of these videos. On September 13th of 2016 the band released their self produced music video for their first single "Drive". They then successfully released their debut album "Bedford to Bellemeade" worldwide on September 24th 2016. Each member of the band had a small cameo in the second music video for "Old Piano" released on May 23rd of 2017. The final music video for "How I Feel for Me" was released on December 13th of 2017 marking the final project and closure for Bedford to Bellemeade.
"Bedford to Bellemeade" is available on many major music distribution services including iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play, Spotify, and several others.
There are many bands that draw inspiration from the mysterious, dreamlike, simply weird world of the American novelist H. P.Lovecraft. One such band can be found also on the Czech scene, though you would look for it in vein within the metal genre. What we refer to is POSTCARDS FROM ARKHAM, a post-rock project, whose mastermind is Marek “Frodys” Pytlik, who arose from the iconic North Moravian doom act DISSOLVING OF PRODIGY, as well as from the melodic death metal band AWRIZIS. Now PFA return with their second studio album with a cryptic fateful title “ÆØN5” that will take you to the world of lucid dreaming beyond angled space, where a different music of the spheres reigns supreme.
Already the first album of POSTCARDS FROM ARKHAM, entitled “Oceanize”, was a breath of fresh air on the Czech not only metal scene. “ÆØN5” goes way further. Once again, maestro Frodys took care of all music and instrumentation and conjured up a unique mix of nostalgic and poetic post-rock sound combined with a horror narrative. Here and there even an isolated black metal scream appears, more often however a splendidly sounding spoken word, uttered for example by the diva Lenka Machová from ADOR DORATH, who besides that participated on the visual and lyrical side of the album. State-of-the-art production was brought in by Libor Kukula from MetalGate
Howard Philips Lovecraft and his “weird fiction” is one those instances that show how whimsical fate can be. Neglected in life and delegated to the margins of pulp literature, today a literary icon, whose work serves as an inspiration to countless other artists across the cultural spectrum. The Czech scene is not an exception. Take POSTCARDS FROM ARKHAM for example, a post-rock/metal project by Marek Frodys Pytlik that translates Lovecraft’s legacy into its music, and that is now releasing under MetalGate Records its already third studio album entitled “MANTA”. Those who are familiar with PFA, may be surprised that the new album is somewhat darker and rawer than its predecessors. It is so because the intent was to create a counterpoint to the previous piece “ÆØN5”, both music-wise and theme-wise. While “ÆØN5” built on Lovecraft’s so-called “dream cycle”, which are stories having as their common denominator phantasmal dreamscapes that make them in a way lighter and more colorful compared to the rest of his works, “MANTA” heads into the utterly nonhuman and unfathomable cosmic voids of Lovecraftian cosmology – that is, into vistas ruled by the Demonic Sultan Azathoth, Lord of All, and to which to gain entrance entails transgressing the boundaries of the angled space, which is to say to leave behind that which we perceive as reality. Hence the contrast.
“Before This There Was Everything”, is Big City Cough's first single from his debut album "Born At Night". "This was the first song written and tracked for the record, and it really set the meditative tone for the whole album. It doesn’t really have a traditional structure - it just keeps going down different paths. Themes are repeated at length to grab you away from distractions and take you on an introspective journey. Once I finished writing “Before This There Was Everything” I knew I had a vibe I could explore for an entire record. The album’s title came from the fact that I’m a night owl. I tend to burn the midnight oil all the time, and the creation of the material kept with that pattern. As it happens I was born at night time, and so was all the music on this record."
Singer/songwriter Bradley Palermo has fronted the bands The Sudden Passion and Femme Fatality for the past 15 years. His solo work is equal parts indie folk and Americana. A fan at a recent show described his sound as “Hank 3 meets Bright Eyes,” which is right on the money with his strongest influences. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Bradley is currently based in Los Angeles.
Lie in the Sound blog wrote, “I usually fall for distinctive vocals.... Bradley Palermo’s voice got my heart within seconds.” His lyrics are no less heartbreaking than his vocals—autobiographical, alcohol-soaked tales of bar fights, arrest warrants, and failing at love. It’s what you might expect from a guy who has spent the majority of his life playing smoke-filled dive bars across the country. He manages to put a poetic spin on even the lowliest events. As Incognito Magazine put it, Bradley “shows some wordplay that would make Bob Dylan proud.”
As The Sudden Passion, he released two full-length albums (one on vinyl), an EP, a few singles, and a collection of demos. From time to time his music appears in unlikely places such as NBC’s The Voice, The CW’s 90210, and UFC’s Ultimate Insider. Lately Bradley has focused on his solo work, performing live as a one-man show with his guitar, harmonicas, and a ukulele. Bradley is currently recording new music and performing shows in various regions of the US.

In the middle of México, in the Capital of the Country, north of the so called “City of Hope” Rafael Gtz. Under the nickname: Elvaan Ibanfure rises as an alternative with a totally aggressive, contradictory and defiant proposal for the social context in which it develops.
Elvaan Ibanfure, with a long career as a musician and singer with some of the most unique and original bands in México (All You Hate) and Arda is now exploring the music world as a solo artist, confronting his own mind and maturity, maturity that has been cause and result of some series of tragedies and events that, with time, allowed him to extend his consciousness and made him aware about social decadency, which goes over borders and infest the whole planet.
Upon the reality in which he lives, a strong feeling of impotence arises, that began to take form in his mind and heart, in front of the apparent inevitable destruction of life, men, nature and universal virtues, and then realizing that the only possible way to make a significant change in the environment, it’s creating a massive “wake up” expressed in one of the branches of the human language… Music.
Elvaan then created a rich universe in which all of his songs take place, the world of "Nothing" where an accidental god soon realizes that his creation should not be taken lightly.
This is the world of "Sheol"
Elvaan Ibanfure tempts people to be free to love and hate, without prejudices, always searching the evolution of the spirit & never to give up.
Several demo songs are now under his sleeve, and now Elvaan Ibanfure launches his first official material, under the name of "The Wolves Are No Longer Howling". A 5 minute instrumental opus that transcends the borders of Rock & Metal, showing the world, his unique and singular style of aggressiveness, despair, pain, hate, love and thirst of justice and change. With catchy and powerful guitars, deep and vibrant bass lines, explosive drums charged with rhythm and the finesse and class of strings and brass sections makes it clear that this is music for the intelligent, music for the elite. This is his new vision of Metal, his particular vision of Music.
A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit.
The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
