'I Know You Know' is an indie rock band based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in late 2017, the band consists of singer and songwriter Alex Toh, guitarist Sam Aylward, bassist Love Ernving and drummer Gerardo Torres.
Drawing from influences like Arctic Monkeys, Blur, The Cribs and other bands from the golden age of Britpop, punk and the garage-rock revival, 'I Know You Know' deliver a special blend of retro-inspired pop punk sounds with lyrics examining the millennial facade of the modern age.
'The Rules of Attraction' is the guitar-driven and melodically supercharged debut single from Sydney-based rock band 'I Know You Know'. The head bobbing rhythm combined with the instantly approachable melodies propels the song from start to finish like a roller coaster complete with just the right number of jolts and turns.
The lyrics capture the mundaneness of the modern age and yearning for a more extraordinary life. The wry lines are delivered with raw honesty, while the chorus provides the sense of hope in realizing our dreams, topped off with a cathartic outro.
"When I wrote 'The Rules of Attraction' I wanted to synthesize some of my strongest and most influential memories of the good times when I was a kid. I wanted to capture that feeling of playing an old video game or watching your favorite music video on a Saturday morning. Of meeting up with your friends in the late afternoon and driving around all night.
I wanted to channel the zeitgeist of possibility, imagination and of the carefree times of the youthful days. When something so simple as a game, or the opening bars of a song could immediately grab your attention and make you start imagining things. When your imagination could transport you to another world, or take you on a wild adventure, and then make your heart melt when you finished it, only to realize you were still sitting in the living room with your friends all along. I felt 'The Rules of Attraction' summed all of this up for me and I'm pleased to have it out as the band's debut single."
“What I Came Here For” is the new emotional song by Luca Fogale. A well-made piece that touched our hearts.
“What I Came Here For” was written following a story my grandmother told me about being caught in a bombing raid with my grandfather in Italy during World War II. She recalled that when the attack started and they tried to find cover, one of her family members was killed, and they realized that all they could do was hold on to each other and hope to make it through unharmed.
Over the past few years of playing and sharing my music everywhere that I possibly could, I started to notice a trend. Out of all my songs, people felt the most profound connection to "What I Came Here For." Regardless of what the reason was, the song usually incited conversation – I have spoken with people who had experienced situations that were similarly devastating to the event that I wrote the song about, people who listen to it every morning to help them get out of bed, people who had made an effort to reconnect with their partner after listening to it, and countless others with a seemingly unlimited number of reasons why they were drawn to it above all else. This song has been one of the things that have helped me to remember how intensely music can connect us, which in turn has helped me to constantly rediscover the reasons why I chose to write songs in the first place.
My hope is that this studio recording of “What I Came Here For" is able to reach and connect with even more people, and in turn start even more of the kinds of conversations that I’ve been so privileged to have already had so many of."
Singer-songwriter Kaitlin Deavy and producer Alejandro Zarazúa joined forces while studying music and production, driven by their shared vision of music and human connection. These multi-instrumentalists decorate seemingly simple melodies in complex layers of indie, folk and what they call ‘smart pop’ elements. The result is a fun, interesting and accessible experience for all to enjoy.
"This is my solo debut EP called "I Wanna be Exploited." The tracks were recorded over the last year, with me performing everything except percussion and some backup vocals. I describe my style as new alternative, and my sound most closely resembles Glorious Sons, 21 Pilots, Royal Blood, Beck and the Beastie Boys. My favorite critique from TuneCore was "the songs sound like they belong in a Quentin Tarantino movie." I obsess heavily over lyrics and they are the driving factor in my songwriting. I want someone to read my lyrics and love the song before they hear it. The general theme is self realization and self deprecation, and each song comes with an accompanying story. The tracks "Ex Catholic," "Hello (Won't You Go Away)," and "Running" are all about relationships, some more disastrous than others. "Raise a Glass" is dedicated to the Flint, MI lead poisoning and my thoughts on how the city has been treated for the last few decades. "Still Inside Your Head" is a tribute to the drummer of my previous band who lost his battle with addiction. "My Felonies" is an ode to wanting all the things in life one can not obtain. The EP's sound is my best effort to strike a balance between live, raw and professional. Every instrument is performed live and no samples, sound machines or auto-tuners were used in the making of this album. My philosophy is if I can't play it live, it shouldn't be on my record."

The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
