New album "Ostara" by Iyari

2018-05-31 05:31:53 UTC

Iyari

Iyari is a project of Josep Mateo, member of Karta Atma, Rebery and Silveryarn, apart from other instrumental music projects and experimental like Soundreamer Days and Leth. His music is based on improvisation with guitar. He tries to capture the magic of the moment and explore new paths towards what unknown. These sounds are part of our trip, and they are waiting for us for when we need them most. With his themes he tries to return to this original point of connection where all the sounds flow and you can perceive the second music, everything is recorded in a single track; mistakes and indecisions are also part of the magic of moment. His first album "Sura" was recorded in June 2016 presenting a collection of improvisations with guitar where total freedom is the common denominator of sound, in communion with total anarchy in terms of structures and construction of the songs. In October of the same year, "Sons de Tardor" appeared and shows a certain evolution in to sound and Josep's constant search for new paths to express himself through his guitar, he brings to us eight improvisations that explain a story among all of them. In 2017 Iyari starts performing live with concerts in Ronda Barcelona and the Experimental Music Festival of Barcelona (LEM Festival) where Josep elaborates a presentation of his songs incorporating other elements such as loop pedals, drum machines and visual support with projections. In this 2018 he edits "Ostara" which is a step forward in his career recording the whole album with a loop pedal and using the effects to create hypnotic environments, other landscaping, but always looking for beauty and the mystery with its six strings.

The SirensSound presents the new single "Baby" by Basement Revolver.

"Baby is about feeling sad and down even though you are generally happy about everything and everyone in your life. It’s about feeling confused about what I want in life, and how that affects other people. It is about crying a lot and feeling like I was burdening my partner with those questions. It is also about my tendency to retreat when things get too overwhelming, to spend all day and night in my bed and watching netflix and eating doritos. "Baby" was written at a point in my relationship where I was so happy with my partner and with the things in my life at that point – but I felt an overall dissatisfaction and sadness that I couldn’t explain. I’d be having a really nice date, and I would start crying, and I didn’t know why. Sadness was just there, sitting with me in uncertainty. So I dealt with it by trying to sleep it off, or hanging out on my own. I felt like this depressive state was affecting those around me in a negative way and I felt guilty about that.

The chorus on this one pretty much states clearly how I was feeling – “Baby I’m so sorry, I’m trying my best to figure this out, I swear that I’m so happy, this crying won’t fix what’s already broken and dead, just give me some time”.

"Baby" will be part of the new album ‘Heavy Eyes’ out this summer via Sonic Unyon (North America) & fear of missing out (UK).

New single Demo Reel by Cherry Blaster

2018-05-12 04:58:25 UTC

Unnamed %282%29

Cherry Blaster is Iulia Ciobanu's solo electronic/synth project. After years of trying to write guitar music, she accidentally discovered the enjoyment of synthesized sounds and re-discovered the enjoyment of playing the keyboard. Cherry Blaster vacillates between aggressive and dreamy soundscapes as a result of attempting to channel the driving force of punk while not being able to shake her vocal pop upbringing.

Demo Reel is the first of two standalone singles that Cherry Blaster is putting out as an exploratory deviation in style - her previous album had a darker synth vibe whereas this is more indie pop.

"I've never been particularly good at taking initiative in social situations, and this has often allowed me to retreat behind walls of self-protection. Demo Reel paints a picture of what I initially feel from this vantage point: the earnest desire to be accepted that comes before the envy that then morphs into a fortifying yet toxic cynicism (the age old "If they don't need me, I don't need them" attitude). I think most of us have gone through this, especially in our youth, so I wanted to ensconce the honesty and vulnerability of the lyrics in a vibrant, mercurial sonic palette that evokes the innocence of our school days. Review for the new EP "I Wanna Be Exploited" by Tommy Red

A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit. The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
