Debutante is the Zurich-based solo project of Christoffer Zimmermann, in which he blends droney shoegaze music with pop sensibilites and chiptune synths, ending up sounding like an odd blend of Boris, The Microphones and Giles Corey. With deeply personal lyrics about themes such as depression or growing up in a physically abusive household, the music varies between slow, mellow soundscapes and fuzzy, bass-heavy gut punches that capture his energetic live shows perfectly. He has released four EPs as of now.
Covers is a compilation album of covers and remixes done by Debutante between 2014 and 2016. It includes reworks of material by Swans, Have a Nice Life and the OSTs of the video games ,The World Ends With You and We Know The Devil. There's also remixes of tracks by Life In Slow Motion and Abraxas Axents, aswell as a breakcore track he did with a Yume Nikki sample. The EP was released digitally in November 2016.
Kalouv is a Brazilian post-rock band formed in 2010 by Basílio Queiroz (bass), Bruno Saraiva(keyboard), Rennar Pires (drums), Saulo Mesquita (guitar) and Túlio Albuquerque (guitar).
Post-rock, progressive rock and correlative music genres are the base of their work, which has already been presented on important stages and festivals of Brazil such as: Abril pro Rock, Play the Movie (Coquetel Molotov), Sinewave Festival, Under the Sun, etc.
Their debut work Sky Swimmer (2011) and the second record Pluvero (2014) had both good acceptance in the specialized media, being nominated on many best albums of the year lists. In 2016 the band launches the compact Planar sobre o Invisível, with tracks recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks project in São Paulo.
In the beggining of 2016, Kalouv has made a tour in Brazil going throught ten cities in several regions of the country. During the stay in São Paulo, the group was invited to the Converse Rubber Tracks project, which was a whole day free to record in one of the most well equipped recording spaces of the city, called Family Mob Studio. Two tracks were recorded and finalized in Recife at the CODA Studio by the hands of the producer Roberto Kramer who mixed and mastered the tracks.
The outcome of the recordings is a compact disk nominated Planar Sobre o Invisível (Soar Over the Invisible – English translation). This new work is a preview of the upcoming new album that should be released in 2017. The cover is signed by the Brazilian artist Alexandre Palacio which perfectly translates the band’s inspiration in the tracks Peixe Voador and Da Bravura, Inocência such as in games, movies and comic books, creating soundtracks to their own universes.
Hideout is Manhattan-based songwriter Gabriel Rodriguez, who's also a longtime member of indie-pop band Cults. His sophomore album So Many Hoops/So Little Time will be released 2/3/17 via Small Plates Records.
Separate Grooves (release date Nov. 2) is on the rock end with pretty singing, vintage keys inspired, and 90s -ish sounding distorted guitars (and a couple acoustic thrown in).

On Saturday, May 20, multi-instrumentalist and lauded bass player Erik Kramer released his debut studio endeavor, an EP entitled ‘Missed the Boat.’ The Brooklyn-based musician has an especially eclectic sound, one that employs the talent of a slew of musicians: saxophone, trombone, viola, trumpet, back-up vocalists - they’re all there. An experimental record through and through, ‘Missed the Boat’ is an indie record quite unlike anything else that’s come across my desk in recent months.
The Great Long Distance is an audible recollection of the first 12 months of a long distance relationship, including the highs and lows and moments in between. It is a journal without words, each of the 12 tracks representing each month respectively. Inspired by the format of NIN's "Ghosts I-IV", the album is a sonic tapestry of different moods and themes, with various recurring motifs and the subtle melding of synthesizer and samples; the result something not quite classical, ambient or electronic - rather, an eclectic blend of the three. For fans of Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and later Ulver
