While Arturo Mockertino (drums) once was in Diluvia, a dream rock band from Queretaro, MX, there was a special chemistry going on. He eventually left this band to focus on his job. Diluvia continued, and continues. Coming back from a trip to Seattle, Arturo contacted Richee (guitar) to jam again. They booked studio hours, and every session was a magical free flowing of music. With some songs, Jerry stepped in on bass. With the line up complete, and the magic happening, they recorded their debut EP.
With nothing else in mind, other than let the music flow and speak for itself, Betta EP is the debut project of Sinnk. It is a really soothe listening if you're into post rock, and 90's influences. The record makes a good balance, with predominantly nostalgic moods, and sparks of hope. You can hear a link between Diluvia , but without the vocals. Instead you get a pure instrumental, almost chilli sound, but with rockin' force record.
MInimalism, no over production, back to basics attitude. What you listen to live is what you get. And certainly, you don't need any more.
With only 5 tracks, this debut EP leaves you wondering what will come next, what will the next step will be for this "newborn" band. A pretty good start.

On Saturday, May 20, multi-instrumentalist and lauded bass player Erik Kramer released his debut studio endeavor, an EP entitled ‘Missed the Boat.’ The Brooklyn-based musician has an especially eclectic sound, one that employs the talent of a slew of musicians: saxophone, trombone, viola, trumpet, back-up vocalists - they’re all there. An experimental record through and through, ‘Missed the Boat’ is an indie record quite unlike anything else that’s come across my desk in recent months.
The Great Long Distance is an audible recollection of the first 12 months of a long distance relationship, including the highs and lows and moments in between. It is a journal without words, each of the 12 tracks representing each month respectively. Inspired by the format of NIN's "Ghosts I-IV", the album is a sonic tapestry of different moods and themes, with various recurring motifs and the subtle melding of synthesizer and samples; the result something not quite classical, ambient or electronic - rather, an eclectic blend of the three.
