"Miss Him Too" by Nate Daviau

"The sentiment of the experiences I write about are not original. In my music, I often describe universal feelings and common occurrences. This is how I make my songs relatable. The authenticity comes from how I choose to express these feelings and deconstruct these events. This is certainly the case when it comes to my new single, “Miss Him Too,”. The song describes a situation where one partner in a relationship has changed for the worse - the hook pretty much says it all: You miss the man you fell in love with, well honey, I miss him too.

Often, when you try and tell someone you love that they have changed, they react defensively. It's something that I think a lot of couples struggle with. This song describes the idealized response to this criticism; I think it's what most people wish their partner would say or do. While I was writing this tune, I wanted to emphasize that this is a dramatic response and maybe a bit of a romanticized one. To do this, I pictured this as the last opportunity to get the girl back and imagined the guy trying to get to her as fast as he could. It makes the song sound like a chase."

New single You Don't See Me by The Tambourine Girls

2017-11-20 18:07:47 UTC

Tg dontseeme v006

The Tambourine Girls are a four-piece band from Sydney, Australia. Formed by ex-Deep Sea Arcade guitarist Simon Relf, the band released their debut EP 'The End of Time' in 2014, and followed up with their debut, self-titled LP in 2016. Frontman Simon Relf has toured extensively as a solo act supporting Dustin Tebbutt and Megan Washington, and the band are set to release their second LP in early 2018. "You Don't See Me" is the first single from that second LP. The album is the first ever to be recorded at Golden Retriever Studios in Sydney, run by Simon Berckelman (The Philadelphia Grand Jury) and was engineered by Tim Whitten (The Go Betweens, Lupa J, The Church, Augie March) and mixed by Nick Franklin (Australia, Richard In Your Mind, Matt Corby). "This track is my take on Bob Dylan's 'Talkin World War III Blues.' There's a line in there that could save the world if it were considered more often: "I don't blame him too much though he didn't know me," explains Simon. The song has a driving, robotic rhythm contrasted with sweeping synth-like guitars and a loose, almost conversational vocal melody. The tension is released in the final verse with the bittersweet resolution: "I think you loved me completely in darkness, so that's where I'll be.""You Don't See Me" was released through MGM on 11/17. with an intimate NSW launch gig at Sneaky Possum in Chippendale on 11/23.

New track 2nd Wind by Bradley Palermo

Singer/songwriter Bradley Palermo has fronted the bands The Sudden Passion and Femme Fatality for the past 15 years. His solo work is equal parts indie folk and Americana. A fan at a recent show described his sound as “Hank 3 meets Bright Eyes,” which is right on the money with his strongest influences. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Bradley is currently based in Los Angeles.

Lie in the Sound blog wrote, “I usually fall for distinctive vocals.... Bradley Palermo’s voice got my heart within seconds.” His lyrics are no less heartbreaking than his vocals—autobiographical, alcohol-soaked tales of bar fights, arrest warrants, and failing at love. It’s what you might expect from a guy who has spent the majority of his life playing smoke-filled dive bars across the country. He manages to put a poetic spin on even the lowliest events. As Incognito Magazine put it, Bradley “shows some wordplay that would make Bob Dylan proud.”

As The Sudden Passion, he released two full-length albums (one on vinyl), an EP, a few singles, and a collection of demos. From time to time his music appears in unlikely places such as NBC’s The Voice, The CW’s 90210, and UFC’s Ultimate Insider. Lately Bradley has focused on his solo work, performing live as a one-man show with his guitar, harmonicas, and a ukulele. Bradley is currently recording new music and performing shows in various regions of the US.

Katey Morley's music follows few rules, weaving together singable yet unexpected melodies, and effortlessly fusing her lifelong love of country, folk, jazz and pop music. The forthcoming EP is a collection of songs that swell from deep sources. She is a storyteller, and her words invite the listener to see as well as hear.

“'Good Little Girls' is the second single from Katey Morley’s forthcoming EP "Then". The song showcases the timelessness of Morley’s songwriting, transcending the roots genre by adding in elements of jazz and pop. Sweeping arrangements brings an anthemic and uplifting sensitivity to the song, while every piano hit relays an intense, emotive rawness that carries the song forward into a climactic final crescendo.

Her upcoming release 'Then' was produced by Scott Currie (Gypsy Sol, Emily Haines) and Tom McKay (Joydrop, Sate, Nightcrawlers), and features the talents of some of Canada’s finest musicians: Maury LaFoy (Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies), Dafydd Hughes (Feist, Jacksoul), Duncan Coutts (Our Lady Peace), Paul Mathew (Matt Barber, Hidden Cameras), Joshua Van Tassel (Doug Paisley, Amelia Curran), Jody Brummell (Shanks, Bella Clava), Louis Simao (Nelly Furtado, Mary Margaret O’Hara) Kevin Neal (Ron Hawkins, The Do Good Assassins) and many more.

Review for the new EP "I Wanna Be Exploited" by Tommy Red

A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit. The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
