The Steep is a solo project by Tavis MacLeod. Who plays all instruments and records all of the tracks.
A lot of moving parts at work here: primitive drumming, layers of drones, ambient guitars, chants, and bagpipe sounds. The juxtapositions and tones are intentional, and are used to convey a specific mood and a sense of urgency. An attempt at bravery and beauty. Music fit for battle. Resistance Drills.

This is the lead single "Bless Your Heart" from In Light Of. The two member project lives in different cities without any mutual connections. They met when Sandy responded to a job posting and quickly bonded over a shared appetite for the kind of boundless sonic exploration found in post-rock (and the like). It's been a long-distance relationship ever since. They 're truly the perfect pairing and have a song writing formula that works perfectly. Light Of have never written a song together. That is together in the same room, or even the same city. Yet, all five songs on this debut EP, Little Treasures, were pieced together from ideas shared from one device to another, many kilometers away. And now for the first time, through the magic of technological advancement, it's in your hands to listen and consume.

Crafting a concept album is an incredibly difficult task. Tying together a cohesive narrative across a record’s worth of songs isn’t just daunting, it’s an endeavour that even some of the industry’s finest have failed to do memorably. This task, however, becomes notably more difficult when you’re dealing in the abstract via instrumental soundscapes. That is what Chronotope Project, the moniker of composer Jeffrey Ericson Allen, attempts to do with his latest project, ‘Ovum.’
NAAL is an eclectic music project led by Chicago composer Dave Mantel. This talented musician has a true passion for great melodies and haunting musical textures. His blend of ambient, shoegaze and experimental drone music feels personal and unique, echoing the work of artists such as Slowdive, Boards of Canada or Sigur Ros, just to mention a few.
