Pipe Dream” is the third Jet Plane album. Its mood, emotions and imagery have been inspired by events going on around us – in the here and now. Beautiful airy tunes entwine into an atmosphere of tension and dismay, ethereality and featheriness are followed by a vibrant crescendo. Peace and harmony seem a pipe dream; but it has long been considered just as inapproachable for a man to hit the skies and fly. So let us dream.
Classic post-rock harmonies enframed by violin remind of Mogwai and Yndi Halda. Apart from that, Jet Plane employ bagpipes and nyckelharpa, which is the band’s specialty distinguishing them from the rest. The album sound has been also moulded by famous Japanese musicians and sound producers Takahiro Kido and Kashiwa Daisuke having worked on album’s mixing and mastering.
Words From the Wise is about the roads that life sets before us, and the choices we make to define ourselves. As a band Eleven North are currently wrapping things up in studio and are excited to be releasing a full length album in the new year. The single, “Words From The Wise” with the same title was an easy choice for the band with its big sound, explosive energy and a message that reminds us to be more selfless in our choices. Eleven North have been working on creating an unparalleled and highly entertaining live show that they can share with their listeners. This year they are sharing the stage with artists such as: Juno winner Dear Rouge, Australia's The Lazy’s, West Coast Music winner Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, East Coast Music winner Andy Brown, and Edge Next Big Thing winner Ivory Hours.
In addition to her own music Stella Rio has been working on Canadian DJ's DVBBS latest Wicked Ways EP, which just came out. She's also been writing for the new Little Mix album Glory Days.
Don't Go Away is about meeting that special person and feeling that you’re connected on a deeper level and never wanting to let that feeling go. Most people can relate because deep down most people chase that kind of love.
“Hewing Crowns” is the first single from Her Harbour's sophomore release, and is the oldest song on the album. She chose it as the opening track and first release as I felt it introduced the space from which I started writing Go Gently Into the Night and that it could serve as a preface to the demons I attempted to quell in making the album.
Out on February 3, 2017 with E-Tron Records, 'Go Gently Into the Night' is about cycles. Her Harbour wrote the songs at a time where death felt omnipresent. This album has been her attempt at making peace with death as a character of growing importance in my life.
Edited by Mike Dubue, the video is made up of found footage from the 1966 short film “Silent Snow, Secret Snow” by Conrad Aiken. I wrote and produced the album in Ottawa and recorded with Dave Draves at Little Bullhorn Studio.
GroundBurst is an instrumental rock trio whose sound strikes for the band’s kaleidoscopic approach and wide-open mindset. The band consists of Phil, Si, and Erik, respectively on guitars, bass & keys, and drums. These three talented musicians set out to create a lush, diverse and textural musical backdrop, borrowing from influences as diverse as electronic music, psychedelia, rock and even jazz with a minimalistic flair. Their recent release, “Triad” is an EP featuring 3 original compositions, as the title of the release might lead you to guess!
These Are Truly The Last Days is a musical project with a driven experimental twist. Their music blurs the lines between various genres, including ambient, electronica, glitch hop, and more. The project’s self-titled studio effort features 11 studio tracks.
