"Late Bloomer" was recorded by James Whitten (Pears, Thou, Gland, Donovan Wolfington) and mastered by Carl Saff. Static Masks are a four piece with two vocalists. They tend to get put in the math rock, shoegaze, indie categories. With a goal to make "interesting" and "beautiful" music, Static Masks blend melody and complexity with some nontraditional song structures to create their own version of progressive pop music.
Mixtaped Monk is a DIY music project by a journalist and music producer (Arka Sengupta) who believes in making music that soothes the mind. This project was started as an outlet for his creative expressions. Under the moniker of Mixtaped Monk, he not only expresses himself as a music producer but also as a writer and a visual artist.
Being socially awkward since childhood, he always loved solitude. And, in his solitude, the thing which he liked to do the most is discovering music. Be it the cassette of Pink Floyd's “Dark Side of The Moon,” which he discovered, in his uncle's old room, during his early teenage, or the first mixtape that he made for a girl when he was a little bit older, music has always been his sole companion. Gradually, he picked up playing the keyboard and the guitar, started experimenting with music and realized that there is a whole world of possibilities for him to explore. That is how the idea of Mixtaped Monk started.
"Light Of The East EP" is like a tribute to Japan, its rich culture and heritage. Through dreamy atmospheres and intricate melodies, this EP tries to convey different emotions you can experience when you think about or even literally visit various places in Japan such as Mt. Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto and the Akihabara district in Tokyo. Sonically, the instrumental EP borders around ambient and post-rock while taking influences from indie rock, alternative rock and shoegaze music.

Scott Lord and Paul McCorkle are the main forces behind the San Francisco based band, Distant Mountains. They’ve been playing together in various projects and capacities in the Bay Area for 4 years. Distant Mountains was a project started after the break up of their previous band to make the type of music they’ve always wanted to make; sonically adventurous and outside of easy to peg genres. While the typical Distant Mountains song is dreamed up and recorded in a small room crowded with drum machines, synthesizers and guitars, the goal of “A Small Few” was to capture a live band sound and feel. All songs were live tracked with minimal overdubs added after. The EP was tracked and mixed at John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco and Oakland. Appearing on the record are also Jason Slota on drums (Thao and the Get Down Stay Down) and Rob Shelton (Meernaa) engineering the record and also adding synthesizer. The record was produced by Distant Mountains and Rob Shelton.
“Heart 2 Heart” is a song about feeling like you can be extra reckless when you’re far from home. But instead of the negative consequences usually expected from being careless, you end up returning home with life affirming experiences and a life changing new relationship.
Raised in Bakersfield, California before making her way to New York City; Jeni Magana issued her debut EP 'Golden Tongue' last year on Audio Antihero Records to glowing reviews and national airplay, making a number of end-of-the-year lists. Magana offers a stunning new voice in the Indie world: ghostly but raw, tender but powerful.
“Pages” is a Free Tour Single from Brooklyn's Jeni Magana, following her acclaimed late 2016 debut EP Golden Tongue. Her work has recently found praise and support from The Line of Best Fit, London In Stereo, EARMILK, yvynyl, BBC, FM4, Podcart, GoldFlakePaint, Shout4Music, IMPOSE, BIRP.FM, El Correo, Fame Mag, The Le Sigh, The Grey Estates, God Is In The TV, Collapse Board, Resonance FM, Dandelion Radio and numerous Best of the Year lists.
Live favourite “Pages” is an early experiment in Magana’s ever shifting solo sound, previously unreleased up to now. It’s a gorgeous standalone document of her evolving creativity and expression. The song shows a more traditionally Indie Rock side to Magana's dreamy Alt. Pop sound with a her stunning voice soaring over the ragged instrumentation. It's heartfelt and emotional rock music with ghosts whispering through the walls.

Crafting a concept album is an incredibly difficult task. Tying together a cohesive narrative across a record’s worth of songs isn’t just daunting, it’s an endeavour that even some of the industry’s finest have failed to do memorably. This task, however, becomes notably more difficult when you’re dealing in the abstract via instrumental soundscapes. That is what Chronotope Project, the moniker of composer Jeffrey Ericson Allen, attempts to do with his latest project, ‘Ovum.’
NAAL is an eclectic music project led by Chicago composer Dave Mantel. This talented musician has a true passion for great melodies and haunting musical textures. His blend of ambient, shoegaze and experimental drone music feels personal and unique, echoing the work of artists such as Slowdive, Boards of Canada or Sigur Ros, just to mention a few.
