Dario is a naturalized US Citizen from California now living in Europe. However, his parents were foreigners. He took music lessons in the 80's, but eventually decided that what he loved most was songwriting, which he learned from carefully studying the structure of songs by Chic and Brass Construction (70's funk band). In 1990 he recorded some demos inspired by vocal deep house music of artists such as Fingers inc (Larry Heard). He then had to attend college and work and left music behind. In 2008 he participated as a liner notes writer in a pair of CD's released by NowAgain / Stones Throw Records. He was selected for those projects thanks to a specialized website he managed on rare 45rpms. This inspired him to get back into music and in 2011 he released his first single. He has had minor success in Italy where he was featured in a campaign by clothing firm Sisley (Benetton) and in an article on Vice magazine, as well as on a radio program on Italy's main radio and TV network RAI. His recordings all feature amazing session guitar players, including Hugh Williams from Florida and Philip Ockelford from near Cambridge (U.K). In 2013 Dario started studying Buddhist meditation and decided that his songs would be based on the well-being and spiritual concepts that he is learning.
At a speed of 125 BPM, this fast paced song has self-help spiritual lyrics that invite the listeners to look at what is right about themselves in moments when other aspects of their lives might not be going well. Musically the song has influences from early 80's Brit Jazz-Funk bands. Particularly the Moog Synthesizer reminds of the band Shakatak. The song is sung entirely in falsetto, similar to the High Energy star Sylvester who along with synthesizer star Patrick Cowley are also an inspiration in this dance recording. Cambridge U.K. based guitar player Philip Ockelford provides a combination of funky rhythm guitar and Santana style solo guitars. South African backing vocalist Nyakwezi provides harmonies. The recording has a real drummer played by Italian musician Maurizio Antonini. Hugo Iglesias plays bass. The star of the recording is the Chicago-based keyboard player Terrell 'Bishop' Beane who takes the song to magical heights with his Moog Synthesizer.
Galaxxu's music can best be summed up with this Sonny Sharrock quote: "I’ve been trying to find a way for the terror and the beauty to live together in one song. I know it’s possible." Galaxxu draws inspiration from Chicago's incredible free jazz and indie scenes of the past and present, European free improv, and electronic noise to create spontaneous compositions that range from quiet, delicate serenity to an abrasive, pedal-to-the-floor assault.
Galaxxu is currently finishing mixing for several upcoming releases and planning a couple of tours in summer and fall of 2017.
'Bureaucracy 5-8 YOLD 3182' was a 2 song, 20 minute tape that was made for a midwest tour in August 2016. The first side/track, A Tisket, A Trifle, A Flittering Flutter gives us a glimpse into the more subdued side of Galaxxu. At times yearning a soulful, but still operating within the realm of their improvised chaos. Side 2 ("Match This Step, Then Repeat"), gives us more of the full on assault Galaxxu is typically known for before coming to a conclusion in a passage of dreamy, fluttering interactions from the band.

GroundBurst is an instrumental rock trio whose sound strikes for the band’s kaleidoscopic approach and wide-open mindset. The band consists of Phil, Si, and Erik, respectively on guitars, bass & keys, and drums. These three talented musicians set out to create a lush, diverse and textural musical backdrop, borrowing from influences as diverse as electronic music, psychedelia, rock and even jazz with a minimalistic flair. Their recent release, “Triad” is an EP featuring 3 original compositions, as the title of the release might lead you to guess!
These Are Truly The Last Days is a musical project with a driven experimental twist. Their music blurs the lines between various genres, including ambient, electronica, glitch hop, and more. The project’s self-titled studio effort features 11 studio tracks.
