Presenting the new Dark Ambient Album from Xerxes The Dark, Named [Ab]Solution released on D.M.T. Records (Canada)
The Story behind the Album: The album is inspired by a true & heavy Overdose of Morego in fall of 2008, when he was 20 years old. He lived about 2 hours not on earth nor hell, but in a gloomy place like a limbo, after seeing many things and suffering from unknown disorders, experimenting flashes about his past and his death, he gradually came back into life by a mysterious cosmic power that changed the game. This album is a simulation of what happened in his darkened trip on that cold-foggy november night!!
Pacific Loon is an artistic project by Francesco Busiello born in 2013.
First of all he’s a member/composer of Starframes, later he focused on cinematics, field recording and visuals. His first ep “Growth”, was born after an accidental meeting between himself and Leana Pizzoferrato, music inspired by her images to analyze aspects such as the rise and fall of humain being. In September 2016 he was selected to compose a soundtrack for Artemisia Gentileschi masterpiece “Giuditta che decapita Oloferne” at Museo di Capodimonte in Naples. He had been always fascinated by the city, so then he decided to start doin’ mini concept records.
"It was darker, then lighter, till it was all drowned in splendor" it's a concept record based in Naples, it goes through esoteric and hidden places of my hometown. Every places got his own music composition, supported by minimal static videos; I did also experience some rough field recording, to make it part of music composition: I wanted to make a "low-fi" record, I didn't look for perfect sounding, cause it's reflects how the city lives. I've been always fascinated by light in Naples, warmer and delicate in spring, iced and cruel in winter, so that's where the title comes from. EP starts with big reverb and dark mood of "Piscina Mirabilis", a big cistern built by Romans, to end with "Santa Maria Della Fede(to wane without disparagement)" set in an old cemetery, one of the most brightest day of my life."

Line Gate was formed in Michalovce, Eastern Slovakia in 2010. Since then some personal changes were made and now a solo incarnation is residing in Prague. After two years of solitary bedroom experimentation and almost four years after the debut “Split Lines”, Line Gate is coming with a new album, Den.
Mappa presents Den, a simple concept with a clear vision. A deep dive into endless repetition without any disturbing intervention, with only soft modulation of a hurdy-gurdy drone resonance. Den reveals minimal shifts in repetition and the possibilities of perception without the horizon of time.
At forty minutes long, the basis of the recording remains constant. What differs, is the listener's awareness and the wakefulness of the performer himself. Tension retreats to sensibility, release, and an opportunity to totally merge with the instrument and the physicality of sound fulfilling the room. Den is a burrow where inattention dissolves into calm perception of fluid measureless soundscape.
...in ocean where Poseidon, Eliane Radigue, Phill Niblock, Charybdis, La Monte Young, Moby Dick, … are throning
Superstructure's new record is called "R.S.I. Therapy Center". As with all his stuff, Josh Younggren is still struggling to properly explain it, but seeing as this was a great opportunity to make a political record (as an American), he finds it telling he couldn't make it overtly political. The music here is an examination of our repetitive tendencies - simultaneously soothing and harmful.
Poet, painter, and San Francisco based multi-instrumentalist artist Chris Woodyard released a minimalist piano intro to a new ethereal post-rock album that will be released next year in New York City. The new songs with be translated from a series of paintings thats he's done in a 6 week time period as a form of art therapy. A story without words that interpret the collection of emotions, places and experiences that he's had the pleasure to endure. After releasing 'Glass House", an experimental post-rock EP recorded in Boulder, CO last year ; The sounds in this next album will be songs translated from a series of paintings he's done. The first song is a prelude to the LP which will be released next year.

Crafting a concept album is an incredibly difficult task. Tying together a cohesive narrative across a record’s worth of songs isn’t just daunting, it’s an endeavour that even some of the industry’s finest have failed to do memorably. This task, however, becomes notably more difficult when you’re dealing in the abstract via instrumental soundscapes. That is what Chronotope Project, the moniker of composer Jeffrey Ericson Allen, attempts to do with his latest project, ‘Ovum.’
NAAL is an eclectic music project led by Chicago composer Dave Mantel. This talented musician has a true passion for great melodies and haunting musical textures. His blend of ambient, shoegaze and experimental drone music feels personal and unique, echoing the work of artists such as Slowdive, Boards of Canada or Sigur Ros, just to mention a few.
