DANI Le Rose just released her new single/video “I’ve Told Lies”. Following - “Cruel” and “Love U More”, the video is cinematic and revolves around an almost thriller like plot. Her character stays quite numb and emotionless in all of the videos. She has developed this trait as a theme for the whole project. Actor ‘Len Harvey’ plays the role of an obsessive lover who’s so wrapped up in the relationship that he doesn’t realize he’s causing harm. The video was Shot at the beautiful yet haunted ‘Arundel Mansion’ located in New Westminster.
Since moving to Vancouver, DANI Le Rose has been spending as much time as possible developing her sound. She has had the pleasure of working alongside artists such as Elle King and Zella Day.
Katey Morley's music follows few rules, weaving together singable yet unexpected melodies, and effortlessly fusing her lifelong love of country, folk, jazz and pop music. The forthcoming EP is a collection of songs that swell from deep sources. She is a storyteller, and her words invite the listener to see as well as hear.
“'Good Little Girls' is the second single from Katey Morley’s forthcoming EP "Then". The song showcases the timelessness of Morley’s songwriting, transcending the roots genre by adding in elements of jazz and pop. Sweeping arrangements brings an anthemic and uplifting sensitivity to the song, while every piano hit relays an intense, emotive rawness that carries the song forward into a climactic final crescendo.
Her upcoming release 'Then' was produced by Scott Currie (Gypsy Sol, Emily Haines) and Tom McKay (Joydrop, Sate, Nightcrawlers), and features the talents of some of Canada’s finest musicians: Maury LaFoy (Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies), Dafydd Hughes (Feist, Jacksoul), Duncan Coutts (Our Lady Peace), Paul Mathew (Matt Barber, Hidden Cameras), Joshua Van Tassel (Doug Paisley, Amelia Curran), Jody Brummell (Shanks, Bella Clava), Louis Simao (Nelly Furtado, Mary Margaret O’Hara) Kevin Neal (Ron Hawkins, The Do Good Assassins) and many more.
"This is my new beginning, and it's about damn time." Working with top-notch producers like Ben Jaffe, Mike Shimshack, Mark McKee, Brent Bourgeois, and Brandon Friesen, Kylie Hughes bares it all on her self-titled album. The songstress split her time between Nashville and Los Angeles, crafting a collection of songs that bring fans through the highs and lows of her life, showing an artist deeply rooted in knowing exactly what she wants. "This album is 100% authentically me," Kylie remarked, "For the first time I'm really, really proud of what I've created and curated." Pure M Zine recently praised the project saying, "Hughes has delivered an endearingly diverse and dexterous synthesis of country, folk, pop, and rock that remains remarkably warm and arresting from commencement to conclusion."
The 12-track album takes listeners through a myriad of emotions, from the darker ballad "Always On Your Side" to the ironic, dreamy mid-tempo "Hungover" - This is Kylie Hughes like you've never heard before. Kylie released the first taste of her new sound with the project's lead single "Heat" - The accompanying visuals, a tribute to cult-classic Talladega Nights, were released last month alongside an interview with The Huffington Post: goo.gl/pXG1Dt. On the forthcoming album, Myspace lauded Kylie saying, "While few musicians are open to accepting change, Kylie Hughes eagerly welcomes it, pushing herself beyond her comfort zone and reaching heights of musical ingenuity she never thought possible, preventing this California girl from drowning in the sea of here-for-today pop sensations."
Starting at the age of 12, Kylie has always been writing and recording music. Her debut EP, 2014's Calipopicana, earned her fans and critics, landing features in Examiner, Good Day LA, K-CAL TV 9, InStyle.com, Music Connection and more. Kylie's contagious, spontaneous energy has led to performances alongside the likes of The Beach Boys, John Mayer, Jewel and Michael W. Smith - Just to name a few - as well as performance opportunities like her most recent run at SXSW 2017. Unwritten remarked that, "Kylie isn't afraid to sound different from her fellow female artists. She stands out from the crowd - which is a necessity in today's world of music."
The self-titled album marks the first full-length project from Kylie Hughes, released on Friday, May 26th.
Debutante is the Zurich-based solo project of Chris Zimmermann, in which they blend droney shoegaze music with pop sensibilites and chiptune synths, ending up sounding like an odd blend of Boris, The Microphones and Giles Corey. With deeply personal lyrics about themes such as depression or growing up in a physically abusive household, the music varies between slow, mellow soundscapes and fuzzy, bass-heavy gut punches that capture their energetic live shows perfectly.
A split EP by Debutante with Leeds-based noise artist Feral about gender dysphoria. The Debutante side is a lengthier slowcore track with lots of glitchy synths that gets quite heavy towards the end.

Alex Bent + the Emptiness just released “Vanilla Blue” - his first single/video this year with many more to come leading up to his LP release.
"I decided on the title “Vanilla Blue” several months before I started writing the song. It originally came to me as a description of my appearance, but after running the name by several friends I realized that those two words could be interpreted in many different ways. One friend interpreted the title to mean "a sweet kind of sadness" and it stuck with me. I started working on the song shortly thereafter and wrote it with that meaning in mind."
A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit.
The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
