An Ant And An Atom is a solo project of Sean Warkentine, based in Lethbridge, AB, commanding electronic noise, drone, ambient, and post-rock genres into a mass of sound. Having appeared at numerous music festivals including Calgary’s renown Sled Island Festival, Winnipeg's Big Fun Festival, Edmonton's Endless Bummer, and Lethbridge's Electric Eye, he has performed alongside diverse acts, including Big|Brave, R.Ariel, Technical Kidman, Bitter Fictions, Pigeon Breeders, Jung People, Pyramid//Indigo, and recently completed a prairie-provinces tour with the master of ambience, Valiska. Live performances join together An Ant And An Atom‘s love of intricate design and powerful immersion as he crafts slow burning melodies atop hazy vocal samples layered with visceral textures that explode into blasts of noise.
Following the successes of previous EPs and 2016's Entropy, a 24-minute experimental musical work created for an exhibition of art by Lauren Crazybull, new release, Exterior, comes as a new collection of 5 pieces looking outward and upward. With intense mastering treatment by the acclaimed, James Plotkin, this work heads to darker and dronier places than previous releases.
In support of these releases, An Ant And An Atom will be performing a few Alberta dates and across British Columbia with tourmate, FOONYAP, along with dates at the prominent SLED ISLAND FESTIVAL in Calgary, and the EDMONTON NOISEFEST in August. Full dates and show info is listed below:

FOONYAP is announcing a new remix EP, Apropos, which features one An Ant And An Atom remix of her stunning piece, "Mourning Coup."
An Ant And An Atom has also contributed a track to the new compilation album, "It's More Like An Homage To You," a tribute to the renown Connecticut screamo, power violence, hardcore band, Jeromes Dream, dismantling and reworking one of their intense songs. It is being released on cassette by the Hamilton label, Zegema Beach Records and features 29 of the 3-piece band's songs redone by artists from around the world. All proceeds from the sale of the album will be donated to FLINT RISING COALITION (flintrising.com) in support of the ongoing Flint, MI, water crisis.

Lord Kesseli And The Drums is a band comprising of St. Gallen, Switzerland based maverick multi-instrumentalist Dominik Kesseli and drummer and producer Michael Gallusser. Following on from the release of their self-titled debut EP via celebrated Zurich record label Ikarus Records in the summer of 2016, Lord Kesseli and The Drums have just released their new single, Dear John. The track was recorded at Michael?s QLFM Studios in St Gallen.
Lord Kesseli And The Drums create involved soundscapes with drums, guitar, electronic bass synthesizer and pre-produced samples, which explore stories of human manipulation through consumption, and economics, politics and religion. Drawing from as diverse influences as Beethoven, Portishead, Nirvana, Bon Iver and Radiohead, the band?s sonic output has much in common with the international scene of kraut/psyche/cosmic space cadets such as M83, Connan Mockasin and The School of Seven Bells.
In terms of describing new single Dear John, mastermind Dominik Kesseli defines it as singer-songwriter psycho rave. It mixes narrative lyrical song structure with post electronica textures and atmospherics, and explores the existentialistic breakdown of a tortured soul seeking the redemption of St John. The exploration of religious parables in a secularized context is one of the facets of what is so fascinating about Lord Kesselis output. The suitably haunting video was directed by emerging St Gallen video artist Kaliber and it was filmed on location in the underground of St.Gallen, and in Kalibers studio. Ikarus Records label boss Manuel Clausen features as the protagonist.
Their debut EP release in the UK was met with glowing reviews and airplay, including Tom Ravenscroft featuring the track Arnold on 6Music. Live concert film Waiting For Arnold premiered with Loud and Quiet, and went on to win an award at the prestigious industry festival Austin Music Video Festival in 2016. The band has since toured France, the UK and Switzerland and are about to start touring in Germany. They recently went down a storm at Sounds From The Other City Festival in Manchester.
Lord Kesseli and The Drums will be returning to tour the UK in September 2017.
Mixtaped Monk is a one man DIY music project by Indian music producer, Arka Sengupta. Started in 2016, Sengupta has released 4 full length albums and various singles under the moniker of Mixtaped Monk. "Northern Eye EP" is his latest release.
"Light Of The East EP" is like a tribute to Japan, its rich culture and heritage. Through dreamy atmospheres and intricate melodies, this EP tries to convey different emotions you can experience when you think about or even literally visit various places in Japan such as Mt. Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto and the Akihabara district in Tokyo. Sonically, the instrumental EP borders around ambient and post-rock while taking influences from indie rock, alternative rock and shoegaze music.

KSCIAA started out as a small post rock solo project of transgender multi-instrumentalist Willow S., and, after going a lot of members, ended up as a neoclassical 2-piece made up out of Julian D. on violin and Willow S. on production, piano, celesta and cello. Within a relatively short time, they released two EPs, "Dreams - Ending - Redemption - Liberation" and "This Is For You", which were received well, and later promoted by the web label Just Noise Music. Sadly, shortly after, Julian quit the project, leaving Willow to finish the first, and final, full album, "Autumn is Ending" by herself, along with a guest violinist and vocalist.
KSCIAA is a neoclassical crossover powerhouse that combines fragile string and piano arrangements with harsh, inorganic electronic sounds and chopped up field recordings, drawing influence from composers such as Kashiwa Daisuke, Olafur Arnalds and Yann Thiersen as well as the half-step thumping drums of various electronic producers like Willow Beats and Eskmo. Autumn is Ending is a collection of works from over several years that Willow, the projects founder, describes as attempts to create short movies without video, processing themes such as her mental illness, trauma, abandonment, feelings of being lost, but also hope and recovery. Currently, Willow is donating all proceeds to Sacred Stone Camp, in protest of the Dakota access pipeline.
The Steep is a solo project by Tavis MacLeod. Who plays all instruments and records all of the tracks.

Ali Murray is an ethereal folk songwriter/musician from the cold isle of Lewis in the north of Scotland. He writes dark atmospheric folk music with lush sweeping dreamy soundscapes and Celtic-twinged instrumentation. His new album LAND OF EVERGONE strikes a balance that is intimate and soaring, peaceful and haunting, sad and quietly joyful, delicately reverberating with Murray's dreamy voice and guitar playing.
Orellana is a neo-classical/post-rock collective hailing from Bristol, UK. Their new album “52”, released in late December, brought in the new year with it’s explosive and intricate sound. The project’s music transcends genre definitions in order to focus on a broad, diverse concept that is more emotional than tangible. This particular release is full of rich and diverse arrangements, but it is also a powerful exercise in minimalism, one that showcases the strength of very few notes placed in the right spots. The simplicity of the arrangement is actually one of the strongest aspects of this entire release: there’s a palpable stillness created by the long, drone notes in the background, which almost makes you feel like the world is happening in slow motion. When the chords and notes change, it feels quite monumental due to the beautiful contrast between the stillness of the background textures and the expressive sound of the guitar-based melodies.
