Major Love was conceived in the lamplight of London’s Bedroom Bar, in the late spring of 2015. Canadian recording artists Colleen Brown and Scenic Route To Alaska each had wrapped their first tours in Germany and the UK, promoting separate album releases. They found themselves on the same dimly lit stage in Shoreditch, 7000 kms from their home-town of Edmonton, bonding over an appreciation of vintage Harmony guitars, singalong pop/rock anthems and an affinity for the spacious, soulful recordings released on the Stax and Motown labels in the 1960’s.
Their debut album was tracked live off the floor a month later, during a summer heatwave in Edmonton’s True North Studios with Jesse Northey (Jesse and the Dandelions) on faders and keys. Contributions from multi-instrumentalist Elijah Abrams followed, with mixes and co-production by Toronto-based pedal steel guru Aaron Goldstein, along with Kenneth Meehan (Daniel Romano) and the singalong single ‘So Good’ mixed by Brooklyn’s prodigious hit-makers Gus van Go and Werner F.
Two songs from this album have already been lauded for their song-craft. ‘Motherland’ - written essentially as a love letter to Alberta - won a province wide songwriting contest in 2015 through the ATB All Albertan Songwriting Competition, to the tune of $10,000; and the powerful ballad ‘I Love All Of You’ was a finalist in the Unsigned Only International Songwriting Competition for 2017.
These songs thrive at the intersection between Brown’s resonant vocal expression and SRTA’s spirited swagger. It is music to move body and soul.
"Our new single “Tear It Down” explores the question - is there beauty in destruction? The inspiration came after a senior’s residence in Edmonton suffered two explosions in 2011. Two people died because of the explosions - a murder/suicide. It happened across the street from Colleen (our singer) and it took about 3 years until the building finally underwent renewal, during which she had the privilege of watching it being gutted, rebuilt, and furnished. She wrote the song on a sunny spring day as she contemplated the strange disparity between the tradesmen’s jobs and her work as a musician. The song comes from our self titled debut LP which we’ll be releasing early next year. We tracked the album live off the floor in Edmonton during a summer heatwave in 2015 (with a few overdubs in Toronto throughout 2016/17) and are excited to be able to share it with you all now."
Non m’importa della luna is a chilean band that’s influenced by the sounds of modern japanese pop, post-rock, trip-hop and dream pop. On the 15th of september, 2017, they released their first LP, El Fin Del Mundo y Antes Del Amanecer -name taken from the manga Sekai no Owari to Yoake Mae by the renowned mangaka Inio Asano-. This first LP it’s an ambitious display of ambiental sugar-coated sounds, with trap influenced beats and energetic melodies, that swing between calm and eerie, with a heavy pop sensibility that at the same time is uncompromising, without fearing taking a more experimental side sometimes. This release solidifies the identity of the band, striving to be one of the most original band on the chilean scene. 8 tracks -one being a new versión of the song Ponón, from their first EP- and 4 remixes (by Tenzon, Orquesta Pandroginia, RISHO and The Holydrug Couple) make this album an incredible journey through a immense variety of sounds and instruments. The album was composed by the band, with the production and mixing done by Andrés Martinez and RISHO, the master also done by the later, except track 9, mixed and mastered by The Holydrug Couple.

Based out of Orange, California, Manifest Wallace is an American hip-hop/pop artist whose calling is to inspire the world and share the message that you can achieve absolutely anything if you believe in yourself. His new single "Volcano", off his EP 'Look Around', is a testament to that inspiration.
"Volcano" came together in early January of 2017 as I was working on my EP 'Look Around' that dropped in May," Manifest explains. "At this point in my career, I believe that I am just a moment away from blowing up (or erupting) and that is what "Volcano" represents. The first verse of the song is all about the grind and how I feel I am going to blow. The second verse and outro, however, are more like streams of consciousness and I just wanted to allow the listener to interpret it own their own and really give thought into the message I was portraying."
"As far as the creative process goes, this was the first time that I didn't write any lyrics down, which allowed for me to flow effortlessly over the instrumental and create new flows in the process. I recorded "Volcano" all in one session (about 2/3 hours) along with two other songs."
Jake Gusto has just released his latest EP "Mindgame". The instrumentals were produced by MdL (Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Sammy Adams) and Mantra (Rihanna, Future, Sean Paul). "Mindgame" is his first project release since making the move to LA last fall and much of it is written around the "mind game" of that transition.
"The concept of Mindgame is derived from the toil I experienced transitioning from the midwest to SoCal. In short, I discovered that success - both the actualization and realization - is all in our head. We often perceive success as something physical or quantitative: an award, a certificate, a million Spotify streams, etc. I think we forget that these physical items manifest from a mental origin."
A lil amuse bouche to prep your palate for Chuck N Lock's "Just Desserts", set to drop 9/5/17. This track features Hip Hop heavyweight, Skyzoo, who's recently released a tape called, Peddler's Theme. Smooth cadences riding a funky backdrop are layered with clever lines for the listener's enjoyment.
A combination of retro aesthetics, enduring lyrics and alt-rock grit.
The best music happens when artists refuse to remain stuck in their own comfort zones and creative boxes. Whenever this happens, they are free to give full range to their vision, and they can really come up with something that’s groundbreaking and personable. This is certainly the case here with Tommy Red and his brand new EP release, “I Wanna Be Exploited.”
